According to family records, Ann Margaret Riedesel was born July 31, 1912 in Munkbarup, Germany. Her parents were Johann Friedrich Heinrich Riedesel and Emma Margaret Jacobsen who moved around Europe with some frequency. Most of the family had come to the U.S. in the pre-war years, but for what were said to be health reasons, she remained in Germany. Ann did not come to the U.S. until September 29, 1922. She was on the ship “Reliance” out of Hamburg though her place of residence is listed as Schwerin, Germany (not far from her place of birth). She was in the company of a 25 year-old aunt, Elise Hasse (or Hesse?). The actual relationship is not clear.
On August 10, 1935 she married Harold Morehouse, who may have been a minister. Their whereabouts thereafter are unknown to me though she appears to be in some Florida directories in the mid-1930s.
