If I have identified the correct person, he came to the US on the ship Bessel arriving in New York on May 19, 1852. He was headed for Rochester where we find a man fitting his description in the 1875 state census.

First known tenant in Webers Haus. The house took its name from the craft of weaving which was apparently followed for many generations, though the tenants also had to tend their crops and livestock. This is one of the oldest known houses in Diedenshausen.

Tenant farmer and under-forester in Schneiders Haus, Diedenshausen. His marriage to Ottilia Wetzel was his second, and the identify of his first wife is not known. Which children were born to which marriage is also unknown. It seems likely that Johann Siebert was born to the first marriage.
