Materials for the Site

We would gladly consider inclusion of the following kinds of materials on this site.

• Written family histories or remembrances
• The text of old family letters, documents, diaries, obituaries, family Bible records, or other materials that might be useful for research purposes
• Older photographs of family members or sites (i.e. before 1930)
• Annoucements of family reunions or similar events
• GEDCOM files that you wish to make available to others

Obviously, we cannot include copyrighted materials without permission of the copyright owner.

The ideal format for documents you wish to share is HTML. Our next preference is for pure text (ASCII or *.txt) files, which any word processor can create if you ask right. Graphics may be sent as *.jpg or *.gif files. If you can create Adobe Acrobat files (*.pdf), those work well for both graphics, text, and combinations thereof. This is a labor of love on our part, so we are not able to re-type documents for web publishing. And while we welcome both English and German-language contributions, we cannot translate them for you.

If you have particularly interesting photographs to share but no means of scanning them, please contact us and we may work out special arrangements.
